Photo Manipulation: Me

yyellowbird didn't want the car in her picture, which when you look at the original: [link] you can see why. So I did a photo manipulation for her to remove it. The photo work is copyrighted to her.

no problem :)

I tried cropping the image first but he looked terrible on the right side of the photo .. it lost something in that so I decided to go with a clone stamp instead. I took most of the features from the left and transposed them to the right to remove the car but maintain the integrity of the scene.

Then I did some touch ups to make it seem a little less like a clone (removing the light in the window, for example). I think, if you had never seen the other photo with the car, you'd have to look pretty closely to spot the touch-ups.

amazing:omg:
how did you remove the car?:wow:

Thanks!

I used Photoshop to take the car out. I cloned the other side of the street and made some subtle changes so that it didn't look exactly the same. If you had never seen the original photo its pretty hard to spot the change, which was the idea... you want to keep the focus on the subject, not the background :)
